Faculty of Science, Helwan University offers a Diploma program for qualified university graduates from diverse backgrounds who wish to obtain expertise in Computer Science fundamentals. Graduates of the Diploma program will obtain qualifications similar to those of graduates of the Bachelor/baccalaureate of Computer Science program. Upon completion of the Diploma, those with superior academic records who wish to pursue their studies may apply for admission to a Master's Program in Computer Science. The Web-Based Graduate Diploma in Computer Science program is formatted to give participants an understanding of a broad range of computer science subjects, with a software development emphasis. No previous computer science experience is necessary, though program participants must be strong mathematicians. Perfect for distance learning, the curriculum is based around texts and interactive learning technologies. The duration of WGDCS is one Academic year. The diploma program is designed to provide students with a set of defined competencies that ensure that they are ready to work in the professional positions in the IT or the scientific industries.
